Eriophorum scheuchzeri

Eriophorum scheuchzeri, commonly known as Scheuchzer's cottongrass, is a clump-forming perennial with narrow, grass-like green leaves forming dense tussocks in wet soils and boggy areas. In late spring to summer, it produces small, white, fluffy seed heads that rise above the foliage, creating a soft, delicate effect rather than showy flowers.

This species is valuable for wetland biodiversity, providing shelter for small insects and amphibians while enhancing naturalistic pond margins and bog gardens. Its upright, tufted habit and tolerance of waterlogged or consistently wet conditions make it ideal for pond edges, wet meadows, and boggy garden schemes.
