Marginal Plants
The plants that do the work at the pond edge — iris, rushes, sedges, mints and natives that hold the margin, feed the insects and hide the liner. Grown on our own beds in the pot sizes the trade orders.

Marginal, bog or native?
Marginals stand in shallow water on the planting shelf. Bog plants want ground that stays wet but sits above the waterline. Natives are UK species and can be either — the label says which.
The bit that sells the pond
These are what a customer sees from the path and what the insects arrive for. A pond bay without them looks like a bucket of water.
