Limnophila heterophylla

Limnophila heterophylla is an elegant aquatic plant characterised by its finely divided, feathery leaves that create a soft, flowing appearance underwater. It is commonly used in aquariums and paludariums, where it serves as an attractive background or midground plant, adding movement and a natural, riverine feel to planted layouts. This species grows well fully submerged but can also adapt to emersed conditions in high-humidity environments. It prefers clean water, moderate to high lighting, and a nutrient-rich substrate to maintain compact growth and healthy coloration. While not the easiest plant for beginners, its graceful form and fast growth make it a rewarding choice for aquarists seeking a refined, lush aesthetic.
