Salvinia cucullata

Salvinia cucullata, commonly known as Cocoon Watermoss, is an attractive floating aquatic plant characterized by its unique, fern-like leaves that form a dense mat on the water's surface. The plant features rounded leaves with a velvety texture, which can provide excellent cover for fish and help reduce algae growth by shading the water. This species is ideal for floating placement, where it can create a natural and serene look in aquariums and ponds. Salvinia cucullata is easy to care for and adapts well to various water conditions, making it a popular choice among aquarists. It thrives in nutrient-rich substrates but can also grow well without CO2 supplementation. With moderate to high lighting, this plant flourishes, contributing to a vibrant and lively aquatic environment.
