Athyrium niponicum 'Red Beauty'

Athyrium niponicum 'Red Beauty', commonly known as Japanese painted fern, is an evergreen fern with finely divided, arching fronds that emerge bright red before maturing to shades of red, silver, and green. Its low, spreading clumps of foliage create a striking architectural feature in shaded garden areas.

Although non-flowering, this fern provides shelter for small invertebrates and contributes to woodland garden biodiversity. Its bold, colourful foliage and low-maintenance habit make it ideal for shaded borders, woodland gardens, and underplanting beneath trees and shrubs.
