Orontium aquaticum, commonly known as golden-club, is a clump-forming perennial with long, lance-shaped green leaves rising from the water, forming architectural foliage. In late spring to early summer it produces a small yellow spadix partially enclosed by a greenish bract, creating a subtle but distinctive display in ponds and boggy soils.

This species is valuable for wetland biodiversity, providing habitat for insects and stabilising pond edges. Its upright, clump-forming habit and tolerance of shallowly submerged or consistently moist soil make it ideal for pond margins, bog gardens, and naturalistic water features.
