Zantedeschia aethiopica

Zantedeschia aethiopica, commonly known as calla lily, is a clump-forming marginal aquatic perennial with large, arrow-shaped green leaves that rise above the soil, creating bold architectural foliage. In late spring to summer it produces elegant white, funnel-shaped flowers with a prominent yellow spadix, adding dramatic colour and attracting pollinators.

This species thrives in consistently moist or shallowly wet soil and provides ecological value by supporting insects such as bees. Its upright, spreading habit and tolerance of waterlogged conditions make it ideal for pond margins, bog gardens, and naturalistic planting schemes.
